The foothills of the Western Himalaya have long provided a summer refuge from the heat and dust of the Gangetic plains. This tour travels through the picturesque hill stations, wooded forests, mountain scenery and green valleys. You will also have an opportunity to visit the popular hill-station Shimla and many Buddhist temples and monasteries.

DAY - 1 : DELHI - KASAULI
Your tour commences today as you drive from Delhi to Kasauli where you will be booked for one night. An army cantonment, Kasauli is still untouched by the rampant commercialization that has affected other popular hill destinations. At a height of 6000 feet above sea level, it is the embodiment of a perfect hill station.

DAY - 2 : KASAULI - SHIMLA
This morning you will drive to Shimla where you will stay for two nights. The rest of the day is free. You could take a walk to the Mall - a promenade where you can view elegant mansions and curio shops. The magnificent pines and cedars give a beautifully fresh scent to the air.

DAY - 3 : SHIMLA
Today you will tour the Jakhu Temple, dedicated to Hanuman, from where you enjoy an excellent view of Shimla. Next you visit the Vice-Regal Lodge, which once served as the seat of power. The rest of the day will be free. You may choose to visit a mini golf course-one of the most picturesque in the world.

DAY - 4 : SHIMLA - TARAGARH
Drive from Shimla to Taragarh, where you will stay in a beautiful palace for two nights.

DAY - 5 : TARAGARH - BAIJNATH
Today you can take an optional tour to Baijnath on a day return. The temples date back to 1204. The Vaidyanatha Temple, which contains one of 12 jyotirlingas, stands by the roadside on the Mandi -Palampur road, within a vast rectangular enclosure, followed by a walk to Tashjong Monastery.

DAY - 6 : TARAGARH - PRAGPUR
This morning you will drive to Pragpur where you stay for one night. Across the river Beas, 20kms southwest of Jawalamukhi is the medieval village with cobbled streets and slate-roofed houses, which has a 300-year-old country home by an ornamental pond. The rest of the day is free to take an optional tour to the Kangra Fort.

DAY - 7 : PRAGPUR - DALHOUSIE
Today you drive to Dalhousie where you will be booked for two nights. In the afternoon visit the Martyr's Memorial at Panchpulla which commemorates Ajit Singh, a supporter of Subhash Bose and the Indian Army during WW2.On the way you can see the Satdhara which is said to contain mica and medicinal properties.

DAY - 8 : IN DALHOUSIE
This morning you drive to Khajjiar, a long and wide glade ringed by cedars with a small lake in the center, which has a golden-domed Devi temple on a floating island.

DAY - 9 : DEPART DALHOUSIE
Depart Dalhousie for Pathankot railway station or Jammu airport for your onward journey.
