Duration : 2 Nights & 3 Days
Destination Covered : Aurangabad - Shirdi - Aurangabad

A city that still devotes the feel of royal splendour which was, once, a way of life. Its past finds a fine expression in its expansive fort, the fort wall and in other relics spread across the city. Aurangabad is a 220 year old city known as Rajtadak, Kirkee Fatehnager and finally renamed after Aurangazeb it promises a delightful holiday. The fort wall surrounding the city is a poignant reminder of its ancient history. Though the splendour of the 16th and 17th centuries found its finest expressions in the royal monuments of Delhi and Agra, there is enough in Aurangabad to reward the curious visitor. Even more impressive in terms of architectural splendour are the cave temples of Ajanta and Ellora, about 30 km. from Aurangabad. Here are some 34 caves, carved out in a curve on the slopes of the low hills; 16 of them are Hindu, 13 Buddhist and five of the Jain faith. And yet no signs of religious hostility disturb the tranquil atmosphere of this place. Aurangabad is famous for its Himroo shawls, Mashru & Kimkhab weaves, Bidriware, agate stone and Paithani silk sarees.
